Before real estate, I earned a theater degree and worked as a stage director on and off Broadway, with work staged at The Public Theater, Long Wharf, and the Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab. I had day jobs at Turner and York Construction. Then I worked as an administrator in NYU's ophthalmology department. Selling a home turned out to be the same job. I run a closing like a production, and nobody misses a cue. Clients tell me that's what they remember: "Nancy calmed us right down." "Nancy walked us through it step by step."

I got into this business after watching my parents buy a home with an agent who didn't listen to them. I decided to be the one who did. That's still the job.
